Hey there! I'm Vanessa, a Bay Area native, creative at heart, with a deep curiosity in human behavior.
After getting my degree in Behavioral Science, I set off to travel the world, which I've done for the past 11 years!
During this time I cultivated my ability to communicate clearly, adapt, and approach things with an open mind.
After teaching for 7 years, I developed my interest in digital design and have niched down to designing purpose-driven brands and user-friendly websites.
I believe that successful design is about crafting an intentional and simple experience for all users to benefit from.
I draw inspiration from life
My travels have been a rich source of inspiration for my creativity, as well as a strong factor in developing my problem-solving skills, flexibility, and independence.
The significance of good design was apparent as I tried to navigate everyday tasks in foreign countries.
When something worked intuitively, I was thankful. If I made mistakes, I took comfort in knowing that I'd at least have a good story to tell and new insights on usability.
And of course, all of the new cuisines I got to enjoy has honestly changed my life (and palate) for the better!
Fun Fact #1
I started offering graphic design services in 2020 while I was a teacher in Vietnam. I quickly realized I had a passion for utilizing my creativity and attention to detail to create cohesive graphics and materials for small businesses. Soon enough, my little design studio was born. Fun Fact #2
I was almost on ESPN! I was on Fresno State's Collegiate Bowling Team and we just missed making the top 12, and only the top 12 would appear on TV. Such a bummer, but I still enjoy bowling and the community, friends, and support it's provided me with.
Fun Fact #3
I painted my first mural in 2020 for an English Teacher Training Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It took about 24 hours over several days and I was pretty happy with the end result, and it turned out to be a great selfie spot for students to share on their socials.
